Meet Dr. White

I'm Dr. Ben White, and for the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of practicing orthodontics in the Pacific Northwest. What excites me the most about my work is the profound impact it has on the lives of my patients. Witnessing the transformation in my patient's smiles during treatment, and seeing the joy in my patients' eyes as they confidently smile for the first time, brings me immense personal and professional pride.

I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to develop close, lasting relationships with my patients. I find great joy in providing humor and mentorship to our younger patients, and showing them the great things they can achieve through collaboration. Orthodontics, to me, is more than just a profession – it’s a journey where I get to make impactful changes in the lives of the families and patients who entrust me with their smiles.

I cherish the moments when patients, years after completing their treatment, revisit and share their accomplishments, and express their appreciation for the investment made in their smiles. Treating multiple generations within families speaks volumes about the bonds we forge, and it is one of the greatest honors I hold in my practice.

Excellence in Education

I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery magna cum laude, in 2001 from the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry. During dental school, I was an A.D. Williams research fellow, and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society. My academic journey continued at Indiana University, where I was awarded a Master of Science Degree and a post-graduate specialty certificate in Orthodontics in 2003.

I am committed to lifelong learning and staying abreast of the latest advancements in orthodontics. I have completed several intensive continuing education programs following my residency including the Aligner Intensive Fellowship, and a two year collaboration with Dr. Rick McLaughlin on advanced diagnosis, and treatment planning in San Diego, California.  I have also taken advanced courses in occlusion and multi-disciplinary care at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida.

Outside the Office

I live in Gig Harbor with my wife Nichia, and we are proud parents to five wonderful children, ranging in age from 23 to 14. We also have a golden retriever, Brody who is the official greeter at our office.

Born and raised in the scenic landscapes of Tacoma, Washington, and Ogden, Utah, I have cultivated a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. When not in the office, I enjoy time spent skiing, mountain biking, running, hiking, and traveling with family.
